Wanna Web Design - Cindy McQueen
Wanna Web Design is owned and operated by Cindy (DeVogel) McQueen. Cindy saw a need in the community for an HTML programmer to help local businesses update their websites. In 2008, Cindy started her own business and called it Wanna Web Design.
But we need to go back to the beginning…. to Toronto where Cindy started her career:
Senior Programmer / Analyst
Cindy started working at Royal (Sun Alliance) Insurance Company as a Junior Programmer. Over the next 6 years she worked her way up to Senior Programmer/Analyst. She worked on the Auto/Claims team, maintaining programs and systems as well as developing new programs.
Cindy left Royal Insurance and went to Guardian Insurance in Mississauga. Cindy continued working as a Senior Programmer/Analyst. She worked on the Claims team implementing a new IBM HUON system. Sadly, Guardian Insurance was purchased by ING (now known as Tangerine), the project was suspended and the company laid off most of the Systems Department.
Web Designer
While on maternity leave, ING Insurance laid Cindy off. Cindy started working contract for Drew Morey Productions programming Flash scripts for a children’s website (colouring pages and a game.)
Cindy started her business, Wanna Web Design in early 2008 after studying HTML programming through Durham College, online.
Cindy taught herself how to install and use Joomla! Content Management Systems (CMS) and designed her first website with it. She created and maintained several websites over the next year using Joomla!
Cindy discovered WordPress Content Management Systems and has never looked back! Cindy specializes in WordPress websites, she has a vast knowledge of themes and plugins that enable functionality such as E Commerce, chatrooms, product listings, events, networking and security.
Cindy can also work with other website development programs such as Kajabi, Squarespace, Six, Godaddy Tonight and many other Content Management Systems. She is fluent in HTML and CSS.

Hosting, Domains & Emails
As a reseller of Godaddy, affordable Hosting and Domain names were added to the Wanna Web Design business in 2012. Hosting is owned by you, the client. Not by Wanna Web Design. Therefore you have access to your hosting anytime, anywhere. You are able to purchase new products, renew your hosting and domains, purchase emails, Website Security such as SSL Certificates, Malware Scanning and Removal and Firewalls. Different hosting options include Cloud WordPress Hosting, cPanel, Shared Hosting and dedicated Hosting.
Cindy has purchased domains, hosting and installed websites on many different hosting platforms including Godaddy, BlueHost, inMotion Hosting, Siteground and a few less known platforms as well. She can easily manoeuvre through any hosting account to figure out how to purchase domains, hosting, set up emails, SSL certificates and install WordPress.

Cindy lives on a farm with her husband Paul and their sons Matthew, Stephen and Jacob in the centre of Grey and Simcoe Counties, in the beautiful countryside of Singhampton (at the top of the escarpment, close to Collingwood).
